on saturday, i trekked out to the meadowlands/prudential/izod/whatever center in nj to catch the opening night of her madgesty's u.s. leg of the 'sticky and sweet' tour. it wasn't the best of her shows that i've seen....but it certainly wasn't the worst. it did, however leave me with an aching for blonder hair and knee-high lace-up boots....(i took care of one of them yesterday....you can guess which).

kids, at 50, the bitch still has it going on! if you can enter on a thrown with your legs akimbo, you're doing something right!

Guess Who's Back...

I realize I haven't posted in ages....and someone called me out on it last week. So, I decided I'd try my best to start again and keep up with it...Third time's the charm, right?

Kids, I want to mention something here. My friend Leah Dubie has a joke about the use of the word "crazy". Meaning, how we are keen to overuse it. Anything a little off-kilter- crazy! That friend of a friend who drinks a little too much and dances on the table- crazy! (Ok, not so much 'crazy' as...'me'). It's a word we use to generalize. It's become an umbrella, much like 'depression' or 'insured'. I've got to say, I had two run-ins with crazy in the past two days that I'd like to share.

I was in Woodstock this weekend. Or, as I like to call it, 'the town for people who don't want to grow up'. Now, while it was gorgeous and peaceful and quaint and I liked it very much, it seemed to me like everyone who lives there is just a little bit crazy. I think it's a town rule- you either have to have cat-eye glasses or a beard. Better if you have both. No one seemed to care about money or jobs or hygiene. Free as a bird. But the thing that solidified my thought of 'crazy' here is that I couldn't help but notice that this was the first thing i saw when I arrived-

and the best part is- I didn't take that picture. Someone else did. Someone else thought- this guy's a nut!
I saw him there around 11am...and when I returned from my hike around 530pm, he was in the exact same spot; as if, he hadn't moved a muscle. Look at his collection of belongings- a sewing machine and a broke-down black and white kitchen tv.
That makes it official- this guy is CRAZY!

My second run=in was on the Q train last night, coming to Brooklyn.

A man who looked very similar to this one was standing in front of me. Same large glasses. Same oily skin. Same supposed return from work. Now, is it just me, or does this look scream- I live in a basement apartment. I can't be trusted around pets. I have a lot of keys. My eyes roll back and I grunt when I have an orgasm.

Crazy. Plain and simple.

SO, the next time you're thinking about having a girl's night at Chili's and downing too manay margaritas and getting 'crazy'....just remember what you're getting yourself into...

How Celine Stole Christmas...

If you haven't seen it, you MUST check out this Celine Dion commercial for Walgreens for her new fragrance.

It starts with a family waking up to a distant voice singing "Oh Christmas Tree"...they go downstairs and there is Celine in a maroon dress under the tree staring at them and singing...The voice over says, "If only everyone could have Celine under their tree this Christmas..."

I dont know about you, but if I woke up to that, I might be a little bit frightened. I find it creepy and it makes me draw several questions. Like: How did she get in here? Who didn't lock the door? Where is the piano that I hear? Why is she wearing such a revealing dress? Did she bring me a gift? When did I get a fireplace? Who are these kids?

Thankfully, I won't be "enchanted" by Celine under my tree this year... But I thought I saw Donna Karan behind me at the liquor store tonight and that's so much better anyway...

So, I mentioned before that I was excited for The House of Carters...and its so worth the space it takes on my DVR. The sister drama, throwing dog shit on each other's beds, yelling, screaming and especially Bobby Jo, the drunk. She always has a nice goblet of vino in front of her and she's always walking a little stumbly...She reminds me of my mom... only B.J. doesnt drink out of a coffee mug.

These kids need to grow up so much. It's like an inbred Real World. I love it. No one has a real job. They just eat and drink and sleep and fight with each other.

Now, I have a confession-

I have a crush on Nick Carter. I love the way he has gained a little bit of weight and that his ass hangs out the back of his shirt. I love that he tries so hard to keep this mess together. Its so admirable. He lectures them about believing in themselves and the importance of family. He wants everyone to feel like he really cares about being the big brother. And all the while, he's cashing in and living in this rented house for free...

But, mostly I love that he tried to get chubby Leslie to eat a bite of her cupcake so everyone will feel better for calling her fat. He said- Just a bite. Take a bite. And she wouldn't. So he said- I'll take a bite. And he's like- Oh, its really good. And the bitch took the bait. SHe was like- oh...ok.

Ok, if you really want us to believe that she has an eating disorder, she would have either
a. treated the cupcake like the plague and not touched it.
b. pulled a Tracy Gold and pretended to taste it, but really just lick the frosting and pick it apart but never, NEVER ingest it.
c. the next scene would have been a bathroom door shutting.

My new friend, Mark Foley, R-Fl, resigned his post today as Congressman over some email and instant messages that he

sent to teenage boys who were working as pages for his office. ( I have a copy of one of them, if you want to read it, just email me). I call him a friend because his resignation comes just 6 weeks before mid-term elections in Congress and the Democrats stand to take majority. Now, I dont care all so much either way, but Republicans are so uppity in their criticsms of the liberal agenda that I really just want to see them lose control.

It seems that the sponsor of one the pages from Louisiana who worked for Foley knew of some improper conduct going on, but didnt mention it because 'the child's parents didn't want him to'...Fuck that! Isn't that your duty as a parent and adult and fucking Congressman? Jeez, I don't want my friends to know that I'm stealing from them, but they tell each other!

Oh, and the kicker of all of this? Foley, 52, was one of the biggest advocates for strict, harsher revisions to child pornography laws and punishments...Apparently 17 isnt a child anymore...

Why does it always involved creepy men over 50? Like why can't this happen with a 32 year old with dark hair and charp, dark chisled features? I wouldn't tell on that shit either..."50 is the new 40," except when it comes to being molested....
